Rep. John J. “Jimmy” Duncan, Jr.
Representing Tennessee’s Second District since 1988, Congressman Duncan serves as the Ranking Member of the Highways, Transit and Pipelines Subcommittee, a leadership role on one of the most influential subcommittees in Congress.
Duncan completed a six-year term as Chairman of the Water Resources and Environment Subcommittee, where he shepherded the Water Resources Development Act through the House and wrote legislation to address the nation’s fast-growing need for adequate wastewater infrastructure. He also serves on the House Committee on Resources and its Subcommittee on National Parks, Forests and Public Lands and the House Committee on Government Reform.

Daniel Williams, FAIA, APA
Daniel Williams, Fellow of the American Institute of Architects (AIA), is a nationally recognized expert in sustainable architecture and planning. He has chaired the Sustainability Task Group and the National Committee on the Environment of AIA and the Environment and Energy Task Force of the Congress for New Urbanism. He sits on the National Advisory Council of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and was named Eminent Scholar at the University of Florida.
Williams integrates ecology, economic development, transportation, agriculture, education, water resource protection and smart growth in his work with communities around the country, creating master plans and assisting in rebuilding after natural disasters. He won the first Passive Design Award from NASA, two AIA National Honor Awards for Urban and Regional Design and the Catherine Brown Award for Urban Design. His book Sustainable Design: Ecology/Architecture/Planning will be published this spring.
